Hephaestus, inventor of fire and divine blacksmith of the gods, was cast from the heavens twice. Once by Hera, for being disabled, and once by Zeus, for intercepting in a quarrel with Hera.

After his exhile from Olympus, Hephaestus forged a golden throne which he had delivered to the heavens. When Hera, the recipient, sat on this throne, she discovered that the gift was charmed, and she could not get up.

Prometheus took it upon himself to bring fire from the forge of Hephaestus, and gift it to humanity. To rectify this, Hephaestus created Pandora, a woman with a box that would unleash the woes of humanity once opened.
